If you run a business, you will know just how important recommendations or referrals can be to help you grow. As a consumer, it is highly likely that you have either recommended a business such as a restaurant, plumber or an electrician or have received a recommendation from a friends and family.
The internet has made consumer reviews more accessible to a wider audience. Now you don't just need to rely on recommendations from people you know, you can harness the opinions of people from around the world.
BT Tradespace has it's own built-in ratings system which allows customers of a Tradespace site to review and rate the business and goods or services they received from them.
The number of ratings a site has is displayed underneath the company logo on the top left of a Tradespace site. You can also view the average rating depicted by starts with 5 starts being Fantastic and 1 being terrible. Clicking on the "View ratings" link will allow you to read the detail against each review.
If you are writing a review of another site, it's important to think about what information a potential customer would want to know. In other words, what has pleased or displeased you about doing business with the site in question. It's all very well writing something like "Excellent site" or "Great products" but would you have found that information useful when making a purchase or doing business?
When writing a review, consider including the following to help build a picture of your experience:
> A summary of the products and/or services obtained
> Your opinion on the quality of goods received
> Why you liked or disliked the product/service
> How you felt about the customer service
> Would you do business with the Tradespacer again?
If you are a Tradespace site owner, it is also worth encouraging your customers to write comprehensive reviews. And don't worry too much about negative reviews either. Sometimes the occasional negative gives a more realistic picture of your business. After all, we can't all be perfect all the time!
