We're keeping a close eye on how Tradespace is doing in the search engines and we're encouraged by the early results and some of the feedback we've had from Tradespacers. It sounds like some of you are getting good rankings. We've been doing some back end tweaks too which should help your Tradespace get attention in Google and the other search engines.
A few people have asked or some tips about improving search engine rankings, so I thought I'd put up some quick pointers. I'm sure we'll return to this topic again and again this year.
Keywords: You won't appear in the search results for words that don't appear on your site. If you want people searching for 'dog biscuits' to find you, make sure you have the words 'dog biscuits' on your Tradespace. So if you want to be associated with certain keywords, make sure you're including them.
Blog: Search engines like to find lots of written content: it helps them categorise your website. So make sure you blog as often as you can to feed the search engines and improve your visibility.
Search Engine Text: Ensure that your search engine text is up to scratch and includes all your relevant keywords.
